Youth Prevails Again At Arbutus Ridge

Dylan Bell - MAGSomething about the Arbutus Ridge Open seems to bring out the best in younger players as for the third time since 2008, a golfer of 20 years or less has taken home the trophy for finishing first at this event. This year it was Dylan Bell from Royal Colwood cruising to a 3-shot victory with back-to-back rounds of even par 70 on a course that was in great shape but quite firm underfoot.

In 2011 it was seventeen year-old Brandon Eriksen from Pheasant Glen who won the tournament, while in 2008 it was a 20 year-old Brady Johnson from Arbutus Ridge taking home the silverware.

Two thousand and twelve champion Brent Wilson (69-74=143) from Gorge Vale, along with Michael Griffin (73-70=143) from Uplands and Olympic View assistant professional Matt Matheson (74-69=143) finished in a three-way tie for second.
